The VERSUS series is an installation project containing 10 illustrations about social issues. As main concept, irony and contradictions. It's the result of a 2-months investigation work.

In this one the main subject is poor vs. rich. I think the image says it all.

I really like this. :) Maybe I'm seeing it the wrong way.. to me though, it means that people gather all this STUFF in life and nothing that really matters. That their empire is just a bunch of electronics, cars, and various status symbols, but their hearts are poor.

It's a way of interpreting the image and it's completely valid. My vison was a bit different though, and was related to the homeless people who live in the biggest of the "kingdoms": the streets full of garbage and such. Thank you very much for your comment, it's very rare and precious when someone tells a vision about your image, people doesn't do that anymore here it seems :)

You're very welcome. I always love hearing what someone took from something I wrote or made. :) It's fascinating.. people are fascinating. :P

I probably took that from it because I live in a big city that obsessed with materialism and perfection. It's taken a toll on me in some ways and made me better in others. Like my tolerance for any kind of social injustice is now zero.. as is my tolerance for lack of understanding.

For some reason, that big, cheesy, cheery smile makes me wanna laugh and slap it off his face at the same time.

Strange... how we assume ourselves to be king of our own little domain, when more often than not, that little domain is made up of junk and shit that we just refuse to see for what it is...
